{"id":2719,"date":"2025-05-30T11:07:33","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:07:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/30\/beavers-save-czech-taxpayers-millions\/"},"modified":"2025-05-30T11:07:35","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:07:35","slug":"beavers-save-czech-taxpayers-millions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/30\/beavers-save-czech-taxpayers-millions\/","title":{"rendered":"Beavers save Czech taxpayers millions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-05-30 11:07:33<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A family of beavers has pulled off an engineering feat that\u2019s saved Czech taxpayers over \u00a31 million by building dams.<BR><br \/>\nOfficials planned to construct a man-made barrier at a former military training site near Prague, to protect the Klabava River and its endangered crayfish population from polluted runoff coming from two nearby ponds. <BR><br \/>\nThe proposed project, first approved in 2018, would have also transformed the site into a thriving wetland, but years of hold-ups &#8211; due to land negotiations &#8211; meant work never got underway.<BR><br \/>\nA group of beavers quietly moved in and created a network of pools and channels &#8211; flooding the area without waiting for permits or construction crews.<BR><br \/>\nThey then shifted their attention to a surrounding gulley where conservationists had hoped to install smaller dams to manage overflow.<BR><br \/>\nBefore any human intervention could begin, the animals had already started raising at least four natural dams &#8211; and were continuing the work.<BR><br \/>\nBeavers are often praised for their role in controlling floods, filtering water, and boosting biodiversity. <BR><br \/>\nWhile they\u2019re not always welcome guests &#8211; especially where farmland is concerned &#8211; this particular site has been protected since 2016 and is far from any agricultural zones.<BR><br \/>\nFi\u0161er added, \u201cIt\u2019s full service: beavers are absolutely fantastic and when they are in an area where they can\u2019t cause damage, they do a brilliant job.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025-05-30 11:07:33 A family of beavers has pulled off an engineering feat that\u2019s saved Czech taxpayers over \u00a31 million by building dams.
