{"id":2913,"date":"2025-06-27T16:04:55","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T16:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/27\/jewellery-expert-reveals-why-rings-should-not-be-worn-in-gyms\/"},"modified":"2025-06-27T16:04:57","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T16:04:57","slug":"jewellery-expert-reveals-why-rings-should-not-be-worn-in-gyms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/27\/jewellery-expert-reveals-why-rings-should-not-be-worn-in-gyms\/","title":{"rendered":"Jewellery expert reveals why rings should not be worn in gyms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-06-27 16:04:55<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Rings should not be worn in gyms.<BR><br \/>\nNeil Ditta, a jewellery expert from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne-based store Angelic Diamonds, said people risk health problems, as well as losing their jewellery piece, if they wear their wedding, engagement or other rings whilst working out.<BR><br \/>\nThis includes getting rashes or infections as bacteria gets onto the piece of jewellery whilst working up a sweat.<BR><br \/>\nHe is quoted by MailOnline as saying: &#8220;Jewellery worn during exercise collects bacteria that can cause skin redness, rashes or infections.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;If your skin around the ring starts to look sore or inflamed, it is a clear sign to give your ring a break and clean it thoroughly.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nAs well as inflamed fingers, gymgoers with tight rings can also get swollen fingers, which is a &#8220;common&#8221; reason for people going to Accident and Emergency (A+E)<BR><br \/>\nNeil added: &#8220;Swollen fingers combined with tight rings are a common cause of emergency visits to A E. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;It is an avoidable risk if you remove your ring before exercising.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nAnother reason to not wear rings in a gym is that workouts can &#8220;weaken&#8221; the ring&#8217;s band, meaning it can easily fall off a person&#8217;s finger.<BR><br \/>\nHe said: &#8220;The constant gripping and friction during workouts weakens the ring\u2019s band and can loosen stones. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Damage may not be obvious straight away, but it builds up quickly over time.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nAnd Neil stressed that high-intensity training exercises, such as push-ups and squats are not good for rings.<BR><br \/>\nHe explained: &#8220;High-intensity training is fantastic for fitness, but tough on rings,\u2019 Mr Ditta said.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;The combination of heavy weights and rapid motions increases the chance of your ring getting caught, knocked, or damaged.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Functional training especially involves equipment and grips that can easily snag jewellery, so it is simply safer to leave rings at home during these sessions.&#8221;<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025-06-27 16:04:55 Rings should not be worn in gyms.
