{"id":3211,"date":"2025-08-18T13:03:06","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T13:03:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/18\/badgers-blamed-for-kidderminster-pavilion-demolition\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T13:03:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T13:03:08","slug":"badgers-blamed-for-kidderminster-pavilion-demolition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/18\/badgers-blamed-for-kidderminster-pavilion-demolition\/","title":{"rendered":"Badgers blamed for Kidderminster pavilion demolition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-08-18 13:03:05<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Badgers have been blamed for damaging a pavilion beyond repair.<BR><br \/>\nBuilt in 1938, the Sons of Rest pavilion in Brinton Park, Kidderminster, England, is being demolished.<BR><br \/>\nThe burrowing creatures living in the park have successfully been rehomed in a new artificial sett within the 32-acre public park.<BR><br \/>\nNow, work is beginning to replace the Sons of Rest pavilion with a new community space<BR><br \/>\nIt will boast a cafe and an outdoor terrace.<BR><br \/>\nBrinton Park will also receive a makeover as part of the near \u00a33 million improvement programme.<BR><br \/>\nThis includes a refurbishment of the existing toilet block and improvements to the footpaths.<BR><br \/>\nWyre Forest District Council, which owns the park, has commissioned contractor McPhillips (Wellington) Ltd to deliver the project.<BR><br \/>\nA big chunk of the cash &#8211; \u00a32.4 million &#8211; is being funded through The National Lottery Heritage Fund.<BR><br \/>\nCouncillor Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council\u2019s cabinet member for culture, leisure, arts and community safety, said: &#8220;Over the next 12 months, the park will see significant visual and practical improvements. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;The Sons of Rest project is now in progress, as is the digging out of the new ornamental pool, which will be located where the original paddling pool was.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Further work in the extensive improvement programme includes refurbishment of the existing toilet block, improvements to the footpaths and a new planting and landscaping scheme to add colour and refresh the flora and fauna of the park.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025-08-18 13:03:05 Badgers have been blamed for damaging a pavilion beyond repair.
