{"id":3263,"date":"2025-08-26T11:07:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T11:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/26\/zookeepers-claim-they-are-stimulating-a-horny-orca-to-prevent-him-from-breeding-with-his-mother\/"},"modified":"2025-08-26T11:07:06","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T11:07:06","slug":"zookeepers-claim-they-are-stimulating-a-horny-orca-to-prevent-him-from-breeding-with-his-mother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/26\/zookeepers-claim-they-are-stimulating-a-horny-orca-to-prevent-him-from-breeding-with-his-mother\/","title":{"rendered":"Zookeepers claim they are stimulating a &#039;horny&#039; orca to prevent him from breeding with his mother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-08-26 11:07:04<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A horny orca allegedly has to be stimulated by zookeepers to prevent him from breeding with his mother.<BR><br \/>\nMarineland Antibes closed down in January &#8211; which comes ahead of a French law later this year banning whales in marine zoo shared &#8211; but the French government and animal rights activists are yet to agree on a rehoming plan for the two killer whales.<BR><br \/>\nIn the meantime, 24-year-old orca Wikie and her 11-year-old son Keijo have been kept in pools at the facility, with trainers continuing to provide care.<BR><br \/>\nActivist group TideBreakers recently revealed overhead footage of two trainers standing next to Keijo as he lies upside down by the edge of the pool.<BR><br \/>\nIn the video, one trainer holds a flipper while the other stimulates hi, as he writhes in the water.<BR><br \/>\nIn an adjacent pool, Wikie is facing towards her son.<BR><br \/>\nOrcas are sociable animals, and keeping them separate permanently is considered harmful.<BR><br \/>\nIn a statement to BBC News, Marineland managers have defended their actions as Keijo reaches adolescence.<BR><br \/>\nThey said: &#8220;In order to avoid inbreeding with his mother, but also to prevent them from fighting and injuring each other, Marineland decided to sexually stimulate Keijo [to relieve him of his] tensions.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Although spectacular, this is natural and totally painless for the animals.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe French ecology ministry &#8211; who have to approve the rehoming plan for the orcas &#8211; have said Marineland informed them of the situation, with Keijo allegedly being stimulated once a month.<BR><br \/>\nThey also claimed a veterinary expert has been consulted.<BR><br \/>\nHowever, TideBreakers member Valerie Greene &#8211; who spent a decade working at SeaWorld Orlando &#8211; told the BBC: &#8220;As a former killer whale trainer, I&#8217;ve never seen this behaviour performed for anything other than attempting semen collection for use in artificial insemination.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nMarineland have denied the alleged motive.<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025-08-26 11:07:04 A horny orca allegedly has to be stimulated by zookeepers to prevent him from breeding with his mother.
