{"id":3412,"date":"2025-09-24T12:02:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-24T12:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/24\/nun-marks-105th-birthday-with-round-of-golf\/"},"modified":"2025-09-24T12:02:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T12:02:18","slug":"nun-marks-105th-birthday-with-round-of-golf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/24\/nun-marks-105th-birthday-with-round-of-golf\/","title":{"rendered":"Nun marks 105th birthday with round of golf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-09-24 12:02:16<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A Catholic nun has celebrated her 105th birthday with a round of golf.<BR><br \/>\nSister Rene Parman and her fellow sisters from Humility of Mary, Ohio, visited Knoll Run Golf Course in Lowellville, on September 19 to play her favourite sport &#8211; two days before her big day,<BR><br \/>\nShe told WKBN-TV: &#8220;I love to do it, and I think it&#8217;s wonderful exercise, and I think it&#8217;s one of the things that&#8217;s kept me going for as long as I have &#8230;<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;It&#8217;s a wonderful place to be, a very meditative place.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nSister Parman became a nun in the 1940s, but it was not until she was in her 40s, her friends got her into the habit of golfing.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;I drove the cart, and they said to me, &#8216;Why don&#8217;t you take a chance and do it yourself there?&#8217;<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;I said, &#8216;What do I do?&#8217; They said, &#8216;You hit the ball.&#8217;<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;That was my only instructions that I&#8217;ve ever received.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe nun now plays golf every week and has been instructing her younger colleagues on how to play the game.<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025-09-24 12:02:16 A Catholic nun has celebrated her 105th birthday with a round of golf.
