And it\u2019s the speed of adoption that\u2019s powered the global market to an estimated value of $53.46billion (\u00a339.72bn). <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;But while this is great news for dieters, and certainly for pharmaceutical companies, it\u2019s proving challenging for the food and beverage industry &#8211; in particular confectionery manufacturers.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nThe journal added that the trend could be \u201cespecially problematic for chocolate makers.\u201d <BR><br \/>\nUS confectionary giant Hershey has already suffered what it called a \u201cmild year-on-year impact&#8221;, while cocoa powerhouses Barry Callebaut, Mondelez International and Nestl\u00e9 have all seen reduced demand.<BR><br \/>\nKiti Soininen, director of UK food and drink research at Mintel, said: &#8220;The top reason to eat chocolate is to satisfy a craving. If GLP-1s do quell \u2018food noise\u2019 and therefore cravings that could pose a threat.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nIndustry analyst Lu Ann Williams, of Market Insights, added: &#8220;Users of GLP-1 medication tend to consume healthier food since taking the medication.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nChocolate firms are reportedly fighting back by trialling new treats made with \u201cGLP-1-friendly ingredients\u201d designed to tempt cautious customers.<BR><br \/>\nThe news comes as a separate survey by GP Nutrition found one in five UK adults have already used slimming jabs \u2014 around 10 million Brits. <BR><br \/>\nAlarmingly, many admitted to using the drugs without prescriptions and even sharing doses with friends and family.<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025-09-29 14:15:17 Weight-loss jabs could kill off sweet treats.
