{"id":3459,"date":"2025-10-03T14:35:55","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T14:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/03\/babies-may-be-born-without-biological-mothers-in-future\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T14:35:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T14:35:57","slug":"babies-may-be-born-without-biological-mothers-in-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/03\/babies-may-be-born-without-biological-mothers-in-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Babies may be born without biological mothers in future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-10-03 14:35:55<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Babies could one day be born without biological mothers.<BR><br \/>\nScientists have developed a method to create human eggs from skin cells, raising hopes for new fertility treatments.<BR><br \/>\nResearchers have successfully demonstrated a process that turns skin cells into egg-like cells with the correct number of chromosomes, according to a new study. <BR><br \/>\nThe breakthrough, called mitomeiosis, mimics natural cell division, allowing the eggs to be fertilised and develop into early embryos.<BR><br \/>\nExperts say the discovery could help women who have lost their eggs due to illness or age, as well as potentially allowing two men to have a child together. <BR><br \/>\nProfessor Richard Anderson, deputy director of the MRC Centre for Reproductive Health at the University of Edinburgh, said: &#8220;The ability to generate new eggs would be a major advance. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;This study shows that genetic material from skin cells can be used to generate an egg-like cell with the right number of chromosomes to be fertilised and develop into an early embryo.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nIn laboratory tests, 82 functional eggs were produced, of which around 9 per cent developed to the blastocyst stage of embryo growth.
