{"id":3497,"date":"2025-10-10T15:01:21","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T15:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/10\/dogs-get-addicted-to-their-toys\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T15:01:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T15:01:23","slug":"dogs-get-addicted-to-their-toys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/10\/dogs-get-addicted-to-their-toys\/","title":{"rendered":"Dogs get addicted to their toys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2025-10-10 15:01:21<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Dogs can become hooked on their favourite toys in the same way humans can develop addictions.<BR><br \/>\nResearchers at the University of Bern in Switzerland and the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in the Austrian capital found that about one in three canines displayed &#8220;addictive-like behaviours&#8221; when it came to their toys \u2014 showing signs of obsession, withdrawal, and loss of self-control.<BR><br \/>\nIn tests on 105 pooches, aged between one and 10 years, 31 per cent became fixated on toys to the point of ignoring food, people, or other activities. <BR><br \/>\nSome even grew anxious or agitated when their toys were taken away, pacing or whining for up to 15 minutes.<BR><br \/>\nThe study authors said: &#8220;Domestic dogs share many complex behavioural traits with us.
