It’s like the water is dancing with the waves.”

In tests, the device dried fully saturated sorbent samples within minutes – up to 45 times faster than sunlight-driven systems.

The system could be powered by a small solar cell, which would also detect when the material is saturated and trigger the vibration cycle automatically.

Researchers say the technology could be paired with fast-absorbing sorbents in household or community-scale devices, each roughly the size of a window panel.

With rapid cycling throughout the day, such systems could yield substantial volumes of drinking water.

Boriskina said: “People have been looking for ways to harvest water from the atmosphere, especially in places with no freshwater at all.

“Now we have a way to recover it quickly and efficiently.”

Visit Bang Bizarre (main website)

2025-11-20 11:33:18 Scientists have found a way to create drinkable water out of thin air.
