A new theory alleges William Shakespeare did not write any of his plays and they were actually created by a secret group which included Sir Francis Bacon to spread religious messages about the Holy Grail.

\nShakespeare \u2013 who lived between April 1564 and April 1616 \u2013 is renowned as the greatest playwright to have ever lived, giving the world 39 plays which include Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth and Hamlet among others.

\nNow, filmmaker and ufologist Mark Christopher Lee has put forward a theory that Shakespeare was just a figurehead for a secret society who used his plays to ensure English became the most common language and to spread cryptic clues about the true meaning of the Holy Grail.

\nWhilst making his new documentary Francis Bacon and The Holy Grail, Mark met with psychic medium Richard Lawrence who passed on a message from beyond the grave from Bacon \u2013 who was a 16th century philosopher and Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England under King James I \u2013 revealing his authorship of Shakespeare\u2019s works.

\nSpeaking to BANG Showbiz, Mark said: \u201cFor this film, I interviewed a medium called Richard Lawrence, who I trust, he is very genuine.

\n\u201cHe is the General Secretary of The Aetherius Society for Europe. They are an interesting organisation that goes back to the 1950s, it\u2019s basically a UFO religion, a church. They were founded by this UFO contactee called George King who said he could communicate telepathically with aliens and he was doing all this manifesting aliens, UFOs, way back in the \u201850s, \u201860s and \u201870s. It\u2019s quite fashionable now, it\u2019s called psionics, but he was doing it in the \u201850s.

\n\u201cHe told me, \u2018I\u2019ve spoken to Francis Bacon.\u2019 He\u2019s had messages from Sir Francis Bacon basically saying that he was one of the true authors of Shakespeare, but it wasn\u2019t just Sir Francis Bacon, there were others involved, but he was one of them.

\n\u201cWe had a special message for our film as well, which we\u2019ve got on camera.

\n\u201cIt was a cryptic message referring to this Shakespeare quotation from Henry VI part 3.

\n\u201cThe quote was, \u2018Come make him stand upon this molehill that raught at mountains with outstretched arms, parted but the shadow with no hands.\u2019

\n\u201cSo, Shakespeare is a real person, but he is not the author of his plays, he\u2019s just a figurehead. The actual plays were written by a consortium of contemporaries. Sir Francis Bacon was one of them, Ben Johnson was of them, he was a playwright at the same time.

\n\u201cThe reason why there were multiple authors of Shakespeare is that they wanted English to be the universal language in terms of the future of the world, rather than one of the ancient languages. Using Shakespeare they put forward their philosophy and ideas about this secret knowledge that is encoded in Shakespeare.

\n\u201cWhat we found out was the Holy Grail is secret knowledge passed down through generations. Sir Francis Bacon was the leader of the Rosicrucians in the UK. The Rosicrucians are a secret society. They are a mystical secret society. The forerunners of Freemasonry. They appeared in the early 17th century.\u201d

\nMark \u2013 whose previous films include The Rendlesham UFO The British Roswell and The King of UFOs \u2013 says the Holy Grail is actually secret knowledge possessed by Bacon and the rest of the Shakespeare authors which has existed for over 2000 years.

\nHe explained: \u201cFrom the evidence I have found, this secret knowledge is the power of the mind, the law of attraction. This is what this ancient secret knowledge is. The law of attraction that your mind can create it\u2019s own reality.

\n\u201cWhere these secret societies come in is through ritual and getting your mind to the right level of consciousness and a meditative state. This has been kept secret because it gives too much power to individuals.

\n\u201cThe Catholic Church most definitely knows about this, all the main monotheistic religions, Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, they all know about this. But if the people know about this you don\u2019t need churches anymore. From people I\u2019ve spoken to this what Jesus preached. He was one of the Magi; a priest who knew how to access this power.\u201d
