{"id":3936,"date":"2026-01-16T17:05:37","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T17:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/16\/taylor-swifts-track-the-fate-of-ophelia-poses-driving-danger\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T17:05:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T17:05:39","slug":"taylor-swifts-track-the-fate-of-ophelia-poses-driving-danger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/16\/taylor-swifts-track-the-fate-of-ophelia-poses-driving-danger\/","title":{"rendered":"Taylor Swift&#039;s track The Fate of Ophelia poses driving danger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-01-16 17:05:37<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Taylor Swift&#8217;s hit song The Fate of Ophelia could increase the risk of reckless driving because of its fast tempo and attention-grabbing lyrics.<BR><br \/>\nA new study found that songs playing at more than 120 beats per minute (BPM) are more likely to distract motorists and encourage speeding. <BR><br \/>\nThe Fate of Ophelia, which has topped the charts in both the US and UK, clocks in at 124BPM \u2014 putting it firmly in the risk zone.<BR><br \/>\nScientists tested the effect of Swift\u2019s music on 46 volunteers from Coventry, evenly split between men and women, who completed a series of driving simulations while listening to different tracks. <BR><br \/>\nWhen faster songs were played, drivers tended to accelerate more, react slower and show poorer hazard perception.<BR><br \/>\nThe dangers were amplified when tracks featured heavy bass, complex rhythms or emotionally evocative lyrics \u2014 a combination the researchers say applies to several of Swift\u2019s most popular songs.<BR><br \/>\nOvoko\u2019s Kazimieras Urbonas, whose car-parts marketplace commissioned the research, said: &#8220;Her songs are known for featuring evocative and complex lyrics, which make them especially detrimental for those who already struggle to maintain focus while driving.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Fans should be cautious when asking their parents to turn up the radio or blasting the new album loudly themselves, as four of the most popular tracks can prove distracting for drivers and meet the conditions associated with speeding.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe research, published in the Ergonomics Journal, identified several other &#8220;danger tracks&#8221; from Taylor&#8217;s 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl. <BR><br \/>\nThese include Actually Romantic at a rapid 170BPM, the titular song at 156BPM, and Opalite, which runs at 125BPM.<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026-01-16 17:05:37 Taylor Swift&#8217;s hit song The Fate of Ophelia could increase the risk of reckless driving because of its fast tempo and attention-grabbing lyrics.
