{"id":4000,"date":"2026-02-02T12:07:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T12:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/02\/missing-dog-found-after-four-years\/"},"modified":"2026-02-02T12:07:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T12:07:34","slug":"missing-dog-found-after-four-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/02\/missing-dog-found-after-four-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Missing dog found after four years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-02-02 12:07:32<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A man has been reunited with his missing dog after four years apart \u2014 thanks to a microchip.<BR><br \/>\nWisconsin man Leovigildo Ramirez took a 16-hour drive to Philadelphia to collect his dog, Cipi, after she was found as a stray and identified through her microchip.<BR><br \/>\nRamirez told FOX 29 he had kept the chip details updated even after moving away \u2014 a decision that proved crucial when the dog was finally scanned.<BR><br \/>\nCipi went missing in the summer of 2022 while Ramirez was living in an extended-stay hotel near Philadelphia International Airport.<BR><br \/>\nHe and his wife had been staying there while he worked as a welder at the Philadelphia Shipyard.<BR><br \/>\nAs they unloaded groceries, Ramirez said, Cipi suddenly bolted.<BR><br \/>\nThe breakthrough came on January 20, when Philadelphia Police picked up Cipi as she ran down South 74th Street in Southwest Philadelphia.<BR><br \/>\nOfficers found her not far from the same hotel where she had once lived with Ramirez, police said.<BR><br \/>\nThe Animal Care and Control Team of Philly believes someone likely kept Cipi during the time she was missing \u2014 before she escaped or ran off again.<BR><br \/>\nShelter chief Sarah Barnett said the case shows why microchips matter.<BR><br \/>\nShe said: \u201cIt\u2019s really a fail-safe.
