{"id":4008,"date":"2026-02-03T13:04:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T13:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/03\/nhs-bosses-called-in-exorcist-to-one-of-its-hospices-over-ghost-girl-haunting\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T13:04:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T13:04:08","slug":"nhs-bosses-called-in-exorcist-to-one-of-its-hospices-over-ghost-girl-haunting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/03\/nhs-bosses-called-in-exorcist-to-one-of-its-hospices-over-ghost-girl-haunting\/","title":{"rendered":"NHS bosses called in exorcist to one of its hospices over \u2018ghost girl haunting\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-02-03 13:04:05<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>NHS chiefs called in an exorcist to one of its hospices \u2013 after staff became convinced they were being haunted by the ghost of a young girl.<BR><br \/>\nWorkers at the end-of-life facility, which was previously used as a kids\u2019 hospital, feared it was being haunted by spirits of former residents after a string of scary incidents.<BR><br \/>\nThe NHS then drafted in the help of \u201cdeliverance ministers\u201d, commonly known as exorcists, to carry out a religious purging service involving the use of holy oil.<BR><br \/>\nThere are about 40 of the holy experts employed by the Church of England.<BR><br \/>\nTheir official role is to \u201crid a person or place of an evil spirit by which they are possessed\u201d.<BR><br \/>\nThey became a household concept in the 1970s thanks to The Exorcist horror film, which told the tale of a young girl played by Linda Blair who was possessed by a demon who is faced with priests in a battle to rid her of the poltergeist.<BR><br \/>\nThe Church of England was contacted about apparent paranormal sightings at the former Priscilla Bacon Lodge, near Colman Hospital in Norwich, where Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust provides specialist end-of-life care.<BR><br \/>\nUp to 1975 the site was Jenny Lind Children\u2019s Hospital.<BR><br \/>\nA hospital source has now said some staff believe it was haunted by spirits.<BR><br \/>\nThe hospice chaplain emailed the Diocese of Norwich in 2023 and warned  \u201csome \u2018paranormal\u2019 incidents\u201d had been \u201creally upsetting staff\u201d.<BR><br \/>\nThey added they were \u201cawaiting advice or support from the deliverance team\u201d.<BR><br \/>\nThe chaplain said the ghouls had made it a \u201cdifficult time\u201d for employees and asked to obtain holy oil from Norwich Cathedral to carry out a religious ceremony involving staff and patients.<BR><br \/>\nIn another email to the diocese sent days later it was confirmed the hospice was in talks with an exorcist. <BR><br \/>\nDetails of the communication were uncovered via a Freedom of Information request.<BR><br \/>\nA trust spokesman confirmed a blessing of the building was carried out after the incidents \u2013\u00a0but they refused to comment on what staff had reported seeing.<BR><br \/>\nThey also denied exorcists had visited the site in person.<BR><br \/>\nThe Church of England is said to be wary of the practice of carrying out exorcisms.<BR><br \/>\nStrict guidance on them was issued by the Archbishop of Canterbury after a murder in 1974 in Ossett, West Yorkshire.<BR><br \/>\nIt saw a butcher slaughter his wife after undergoing an all-night exorcism at his local church. <BR><br \/>\nThe guidance ordered deliverance ministers to consult with \u201cmedical practitioners, psychologists and psychiatrists\u201d before getting involved in exorcism cases.<BR><br \/>\nA Church of England spokesman said: \u201cDeliverance ministry is a specialist form of pastoral care&#8230; rooted in the church&#8217;s commitment to healing, wholeness and peace for those experiencing distress, whether physical, mental or spiritual. <BR><br \/>\n\u201cIt is offered in the context of prayer, sacrament and scripture, and is embedded within the wider ministry of healing.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026-02-03 13:04:05 NHS chiefs called in an exorcist to one of its hospices \u2013 after staff became convinced they were being haunted by the ghost of a young girl.
