A dad-of-two claims he \u201cstood next to the devil\u201d and watched souls being ground to a pulp during a chilling five-day coma.

\nGerhard Schug says his near-death experience in 2020 was nothing like the peaceful, bright-light visions often described by others.

\nInstead, he believes he saw hell.

\nSpeaking to Thanatos TV EN, Gerhard said: \u201cIn my near-death experience, I didn’t pass into a bright light nor into an afterlife where everything is beautiful.\u201d

\nHe described a vast grey stone palace with a high canopy roof \u201clike those found in China or Japan\u201d and a flat stone throne.

\nOn it, he claims, sat the devil.

\n\u201cIt was hot there \u2013 he had horns, how you might imagine a typical devil,\u201d Gerhard said.

\nHe alleges souls arrived by boat and were brought before the throne, where a terrifying selection process began. Some, he claims, were fed into a funnel and crushed beneath giant stone structures shaped like lion\u2019s claws.

\n\u201cThe whole situation was terrifying. I was scared to death.\u201d

\nBefore the coma, Gerhard had endured years of heartbreak and illness.

\nFollowing the death of his beloved daughter Tanja in 2019 from a pulmonary embolism, he spiralled into isolation. Already battling a spine injury, Parkinson\u2019s, lung disease and mental health conditions, he says the grief became unbearable.

\n\u201cI didn\u2019t want to live anymore,\u201d he admitted.

\nAfter being hospitalised with a virus, he fell into a coma. Doctors reportedly warned his family he might not survive.

\nBut he did.

\nGerhard says the experience \u201cburned itself\u201d into his memory and lasted the entire five days he was unconscious.

\nRaised Catholic, he now believes the vision was a warning.

\n\u201cIt was clear to me that God had given me life,\u201d he said. \u201cI did not have the right to take my own life.\u201d

\nToday, he describes himself as living \u201cglass half full\u201d \u2013 determined to wait until, as he puts it, God decides his time is up.
