{"id":4287,"date":"2026-03-30T11:03:31","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T11:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/30\/escaped-kangaroo-found\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T11:03:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T11:03:32","slug":"escaped-kangaroo-found","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/30\/escaped-kangaroo-found\/","title":{"rendered":"Escaped kangaroo found"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-03-30 11:03:30<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A kangaroo has been found after he jumped a fence to escape a petting zoo.<BR><br \/>\nAfter some stray dogs spooked 16-month-old Chesney last week, the creature scaled an 8ft fence at Sunshine Farm in Necedah, Wisconsin, last Wednesday (25.03.26), prompting keeper Debbie Marland and her friends to trek the local area in a bid to find him.<BR><br \/>\nDebbie said: \u201cI was putting on about 37,000 steps per day looking for him. I haven\u2019t done so much exercise in a very long time.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nWhile Chesney stayed within a three-mile radius of the farm, no one had caught sight of the kangaroo on Friday (27.03.26), leading to fears he had headed further afield.<BR><br \/>\nFortunately, he was eventually discovered nestled under a tree but despite being surrounded by his wood-be resuers, the speedy kangaroo got away.<BR><br \/>\nDebbie returned to the area the following morning armed with Chesney&#8217;s favourite treats and a few pieces of material that held his and fellow kangaroo Kenny&#8217;s scents, and he eventually approached.<BR><br \/>\nStacey Brereton, who helps on the farm, said: \u201cHe had a very calm attitude when he walked up. Obviously you could tell he wasn\u2019t in fight-or-flight mode, so I just went with that.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;I just stayed calm with him and I just kind of went and sat and let him come to me.<BR><br \/>\n\u201cI do believe he heard our comforting voices, he smelled the familiar smells of home and it just made him feel safe.<BR><br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m just glad he loves me as much as I love him.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nChesney returned home hungry and tired, but otherwise healthy, and Sunshine Farm are planning to add a new mesh  top to the kangaroo enclosure to prevent further escape attempts.<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026-03-30 11:03:30 A kangaroo has been found after he jumped a fence to escape a petting zoo.
