{"id":4289,"date":"2026-03-30T12:48:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T12:48:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/30\/church-goes-viral-thanks-to-sporty-biblical-art\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T12:48:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T12:48:59","slug":"church-goes-viral-thanks-to-sporty-biblical-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/30\/church-goes-viral-thanks-to-sporty-biblical-art\/","title":{"rendered":"Church goes viral thanks to sporty biblical art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-03-30 12:48:57<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>An Alabama church has gone viral thanks to its artwork featuring sporty biblical figures.<BR><br \/>\nAndie Williams was helping coach her son&#8217;s soccer team at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Madison when she spotted the murals on the wall, with the figures depicted including &#8216;Air Moses&#8217;, who was leaping in the air with a flaming basketball in place of the firey bush from the Old Testament, and &#8216;Pickleball Paul&#8217;, which saw the apostle enjoying the modern-day sporting sensation.<BR><br \/>\nAndie shared footage online of the kids playing soccer with the murals visible in the background along with the caption: &#8220;Tell me you&#8217;re practicing in a church gym.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe post instantly took off.<BR><br \/>\nAndie told Today: \u201cI got home and thought, I\u2019m just going to post this and see if my friends think it\u2019s funny. And the next morning, it already had 20,000 views on it.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nAtlanta-based artist Chad Camp had painted the murals, with Air Moses dating back to around 2006 and Pickleball Paul added two years ago.<BR><br \/>\nPastor Brittany Dawkins-Camp &#8211; who was previously married to Chat &#8211; said: &#8220;We had just launched the Upward Sports basketball program at our church, and we wanted something fun on the wall, something that people would get a kick out of, something kind of iconic.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;And so we went with the &#8216;Air Moses.&#8217; &#8220;<BR><br \/>\nOf Pickleball  Paul she added: &#8220;He came along because our church started a community pickleball league that plays three days a week in the gym, and we just wanted something to represent them.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe pastor is delighted to see the reaction to the artwork.<BR><br \/>\nShe said: &#8220;We actually played (the news clip) at worship last week as part of our announcements. It&#8217;s just been really fun for our congregation to see that the heartbeat of our church is to be right in our community.
