A teacher who stumbled across a stash of rare Pokemon cards in his attic hopes they will fund his wedding after learning they may be worth a staggering \u00a325,000.

\nAndrew Braund, 37, found the cards as he cleared out his childhood home in Wimborne, Dorset – more than 20 years after collecting them.

\nThe groom-to-be initially believed his entire collection may fetch “\u00a3500 or so” \u2013 until a pal, who owns a trading card shop, spotted three incredibly valuable Charizard cards.

\nThe prized trio \u2013 which had been tucked away separately in a tin rather than his binder \u2013 are now tipped to fetch thousands at Ewbank\u2019s Auctions on April 16.

\nA mint-condition Skyridge Charizard Holo card could go under the hammer for between \u00a38,000 and \u00a312,000, while another near-mint version may be sold at \u00a310,000.

\nA third Reverse-Holo card is estimated to generate between \u00a31,600 and \u00a32,200.

\nAnd Andrew “didn\u2019t think they would be worth anything” – so got quite a shock when he received an estimation.

\nHe is quoted by The Sun as saying: “When my friend told me how much the Charizard cards might be worth, I got quite lightheaded.

\n“I was very big into Pok\u00e9mon cards as a child\u2026 I remember them being banned at boarding school.

\n“When they were unbanned, everyone just pulled them out of their pockets.

\n“Ironically, the three Charizard cards must have been from one of the last packs I ever bought.

\nDespite their huge value, Andrew admitted the rare cards hold less sentimental importance than others from his childhood.

\nHe continued: “They have the highest monetary value, but the lowest sentimental value. The ones I loved as a kid look worn from being in my pockets all the time.”

\nAndrew is preparing to marry his fiancee Rachel Moseley in August after proposing at the Chalke Valley History Festival, Salisbury, in 2025.

\nHe said: “I\u2019m hoping the sale of these cards might contribute towards the cost of my wedding.”
