So my answer is yes. There\u2019s life.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;It\u2019s highly likely there\u2019s life out there in the universe.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nIt comes after former US President Barack Obama appeared on the No Lie With Brian Tyler Cohen podcast and confirmed his own belief in the existence of extraterrestrial life.<BR><br \/>\nTyson was asked about Obama&#8217;s comments and he threw his support behind the former politician, saying: &#8220;He\u2019s scientifically literate, and he gave the scientifically literate reply. He\u2019s citing what any scientist would tell you about the likelihood of life in the universe &#8230; <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Because he was president, people wanted to read into it on levels that were just off the scale and out of control. And so I was intrigued by that reaction. Because as an educator, I like knowing that I can anticipate how people will respond to certain information, and if I ever get it wrong, it\u2019s like, how did I misthink their motives or their brain wiring in this?&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nDuring Obama&#8217;s appearance on the podcast, the former president revealed the first question he asked following his first election to the White House was related to beings from outer space. <BR><br \/>\nObama said: &#8220;They\u2019re real. But I haven\u2019t seen them. They\u2019re not being kept at &#8230; Area 51. There\u2019s no underground facility &#8211; unless there\u2019s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.&#8221; <BR><br \/>\nCohen then asked the former politician: &#8220;What was the first question you wanted answered when you became president?&#8221; and Obama replied: &#8220;Where are the aliens?&#8221; <BR><br \/>\nAfter the interview was published, Obama shared a clip showing him talking about aliens on his Instagram page and made an attempt to clarify his answers. <BR><br \/>\nObama wrote: &#8220;I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it\u2019s gotten attention let me clarify. &#8220;Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there\u2019s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we\u2019ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us.
