Mark looked at the cat through his binoculars and he&#8217;s convinced the beast was way too big to have been a domestic cat.<BR><br \/>\nHe told Puma Watch: &#8220;Me, my partner and my daughter were walking a loop walk up on Halkyn near the quarry, we\u2019d stopped to look through binoculars across to Moel Famau, we packed our stuff away and were about to carry on with our walk when I glanced to my right and saw approximately 200 metres away a black cat, it was in view for approximately 30 seconds.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;From the distance away I realised that it was way too large to be a domestic cat, it was just sitting in the sun then it walked off into the bushes\/bracken \u2026all three of us are convinced it was panther like.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe sighting comes 10 years after drone footage taken at a nearby quarry appeared catch a big cat on camera back in April 2016.<BR><br \/>\nThe video footage was published online and showed a large, dark shape moving across the grass with some speculating it could be a big cat finally caught on camera.<BR><br \/>\nIn 2020, another sighting was reported by Robert Kardziz ,the owner of the nearby Billy Jeans cafe, who told The Leader: &#8220;I was locking up tonight and heard some commotion in the yard behind the cafe. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;I popped down and a hissing cat ran past me. It had been in a fight with another animal. It was dark and l thought it was a badger or something similar. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;As l got closer, the thing came into focus and snarled at me before it ran off into the fields. It really shook me up.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;I thought what the hell is that? I couldn\u2019t tell exactly what it was, but it wasn\u2019t a badger and it definitely wasn\u2019t a dog. It made some odd noise and ran off \u2013 it jumped over the fence and there\u2019s quite a big drop on the other side.
