{"id":4695,"date":"2026-06-19T13:01:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T13:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/19\/police-called-to-alligator-posted-up-on-front-porch\/"},"modified":"2026-06-19T13:01:17","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T13:01:17","slug":"police-called-to-alligator-posted-up-on-front-porch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/19\/police-called-to-alligator-posted-up-on-front-porch\/","title":{"rendered":"Police called to alligator &#039;posted up&#039; on front porch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-06-19 13:01:14<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Police had to respond after an alligator was &#8220;posted up&#8221; at someone&#8217;s front door.<BR><br \/>\nThe Berkeley County Sheriff&#8217;s Office has shared a photo of the terrifying scene with a large &#8216;gator on a front porch in South Carolina.<BR><br \/>\nIn a Facebook post, they wrote: &#8220;Just another calm, quiet day in Moncks Corner\u2026 until an alligator decided it was a front porch kind of guy.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;BCSO&#8217;s Animal Control responded to a residence off Charlesfort Way in Moncks Corner after a homeowner discovered an unexpected guest posted up right at the front door&#8230; because apparently knocking is optional now.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nOnce the officer arrived, they &#8220;quickly determined this was not a &#8216;grab a bag and go&#8217; situation&#8221;.<BR><br \/>\nThey continued: &#8220;The alligator was significantly larger than what we are equipped to safely handle under our standard capture guidelines (and also clearly had no intention of following instructions of any kind).&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThe officer then called the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, who joined the Animal Control team at the scene.<BR><br \/>\nThe sheriff&#8217;s office added: &#8220;Together, we were able to safely secure the alligator and relocate it back to a more appropriate setting.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;That setting was FAR away from front doors, welcome mats, and any future real estate ambitions.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;Shoutout to everyone involved for the teamwork, professionalism, and for once again reminding us that living in South Carolina sometimes means your front porch doubles as wildlife encounter central.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nThey confirmed that the animal was &#8220;safely released&#8221; back into the wild.<BR><br \/>\nThe authorities quipped: &#8220;The alligator has been safely released, and no porch furniture was harmed in the making of this incident.&#8221;<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026-06-19 13:01:14 Police had to respond after an alligator was &#8220;posted up&#8221; at someone&#8217;s front door.
