{"id":4725,"date":"2026-06-25T09:01:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T09:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/25\/chinese-zoo-goes-viral-amid-advert-for-bear-job\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T09:01:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T09:01:11","slug":"chinese-zoo-goes-viral-amid-advert-for-bear-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/25\/chinese-zoo-goes-viral-amid-advert-for-bear-job\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese zoo goes viral amid advert for &#039;bear&#039; job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-06-25 09:01:08<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A zoo in China has gone viral after advertising for someone to take on the \u00a311,000-a-year role of being a bear to entertain guests. <BR><br \/>\nThe Luohe Wildlife Zoo in Luohe, in the Henan province, is looking for someone to wear a \u201csoft\u201d black bear costume to wander the grounds and interact with zoo visitors. <BR><br \/>\nHowever, there is one catch &#8211; namely that they aren\u2019t allowed to talk. <BR><br \/>\nAccording to the South China Morning Post, the job advert states that the \u201cbear\u201d isn\u2019t allowed to talk, and can only make purring sounds unless there\u2019s an emergency or they need help. <BR><br \/>\nThe job is suitable for a person who is 18 years or older, is physically fit and can work six-hour shifts with four days off per month. <BR><br \/>\nThe zoo also encourages people to take on some quirky moves to keep zoogoers entertained &#8211; such as climbing trees or jumping. <BR><br \/>\nThey are quoted as saying in the job posting: \u201cThe more bizarre, the more popular you&#8217;ll be. If you&#8217;re tired, you can just lie down and daydream. <BR><br \/>\n\u201cIf you&#8217;re feeling energetic, you can jump, dance, climb trees, or even catch fish. Do whatever feels comfortable. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;You can act in the most nonsensical ways. The more bizarre, the more popular you&#8217;ll be.<BR><br \/>\nCandidates are also required to be \u201ceasy-going\u201d about snacks, and they, as performers, are allowed to indulge in refreshments. <BR><br \/>\nThe job posting was designed to boost visitor numbers at the zoo, which only opened in May, and the zoo said that more than 100 people applied in a matter of days. <BR><br \/>\nThey also confirmed they\u2019d filled all the job openings, although didn\u2019t reveal how many people they had found. <BR><br \/>\nFollowing the announcement, a spokesperson for the zoo told New Weekly magazine that if a candidate made a name for themselves on social media, they might be able to earn themselves more than the basic salary. <BR><br \/>\nA spokesperson said: \u201cThis could represent a unique job opportunity for young people and help our zoo explore new avenues for revenue.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026-06-25 09:01:08 A zoo in China has gone viral after advertising for someone to take on the \u00a311,000-a-year role of being a bear to entertain guests.
