{"id":4784,"date":"2026-07-06T12:01:50","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T12:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/06\/new-theory-emerges-about-alien-forms\/"},"modified":"2026-07-06T12:01:51","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T12:01:51","slug":"new-theory-emerges-about-alien-forms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/06\/new-theory-emerges-about-alien-forms\/","title":{"rendered":"New theory emerges about alien &#039;forms&#039;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-07-06 12:01:49<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>Aliens could have forms humans can\u2019t even imagine, according to a shocking new theory. <BR><br \/>\nEric Schwitzgebel of the University of California and Jeremy Pober from the University of Lisbon explain their theory in a working paper, in which they focus on an idea called \u201csubstrate flexibility\u201d. <BR><br \/>\nIn short, substrate flexibility means that although humans have consciousness, it doesn\u2019t mean that consciousness that extends beyond Earth will consist of the same carbon-based life as humans.<BR><br \/>\nThey theorise that instead of the flesh and blood the humans are made of, space beings could be made from completely different physical materials.<BR><br \/>\nThe theory is in direct contrast to that shown in movies and books, of \u201chumanoid\u201d aliens. <BR><br \/>\nThey write in the paper: \u201cGiven that it&#8217;s likely that functionally complex, behaviourally sophisticated entities have arisen or will arise many times in the observable universe, in diverse substrates, we argue that it would be a violation of a principle of Copernican mediocrity to hold that among these diverse entities, only we, or only we and a small proportion of others who share our substrate, are conscious.\u201d<BR><br \/>\nThe alien theory comes amid another study, which says that the \u201csuper Earth\u201d exoplanet GJ 3378b, discovered in 2024, could be better suited to supporting alien life than researchers first thought. <BR><br \/>\nAs the planet emits 90% less radiation than the sun, it\u2019s in the middle of the \u201chabitable zone\u201d in space, and means that liquid water could even exist on its surface. <BR><br \/>\nWhile it was initially thought that the exoplanet was five times the size of Earth, new research has shown it\u2019s actually only 2.3 times the size &#8211; meaning the atmospheric pressure they initially predicted would \u201ccrush\u201d any life form isn\u2019t so much of a factor.<BR><br \/>\nAstronomer and study author Paul Robertson called the discovery that the planet is also closer than they first thought \u201cexciting\u201d, adding: \u201c25 light-years sounds like a long way, but the Milky Way\u00a0is about 100,000 light-years across, so in that respect it\u2019s our next-door neighbour.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nMeanwhile, Gogod James, who co-wrote the study published last month in The Astrophysical Journal, added that the discovery means there is reason for further research, explaining: \u201cIf a planet in the habitable zone has a proper atmosphere, we can justify further research looking for bio-signatures, liquid water or other signs of life.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Visit Bang Bizarre (main website) <\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><script src=\"https:\/\/geo.dailymotion.com\/player\/xtbac.js\" data-video=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026-07-06 12:01:49 Aliens could have forms humans can\u2019t even imagine, according to a shocking new theory.
