{"id":4877,"date":"2026-07-24T11:02:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T11:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/24\/hunter-spots-massive-grunting-ape-like-animal-wading-through-swamp\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T11:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T11:02:08","slug":"hunter-spots-massive-grunting-ape-like-animal-wading-through-swamp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bangbizarre.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/24\/hunter-spots-massive-grunting-ape-like-animal-wading-through-swamp\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunter spots &#039;massive, grunting ape-like animal&#039; wading through swamp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>2026-07-24 11:02:06<\/b><br \/>\n<BR>A hunter in North Carolina claims to have spotted a &#8220;massive, grunting ape-like animal&#8221; which reeked of &#8220;musk&#8221; wading through a swamp.<BR><br \/>\nRon Houston was tracking deer in Goshen Swamp, a blackwater creek swamp in Duplin County, in mid-May when he was startled by a big splash of water and the sound of tree limbs cracking before he saw a huge hairy beast around eight to 10-feet tall running away from him.<BR><br \/>\nRon reported the sighting to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), writing: &#8220;[I] was walking in the woods in Goshen Swamp scouting for places to put a deer stand when I heard a big splash of water in the distance.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;I paused for one to three minutes and walked to a opening as walking I heard trees limbs on the ground snapping thought [it was] deer when I [saw] a massive, what I can only say ape-like animal running away from me.<BR><br \/>\n&#8220;It had to be least eight or 10 foot tall and it was grunting while running and disappeared in the swamp. I left trying to figure out what I seen [sic].&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nHe added: &#8220;Besides grunting as it ran off, [it] had a strong musk smell to it.&#8221;<BR><br \/>\nRon went on to add he experienced a similar sighting at Angola Bay Game Land in North Carolina but did not provide any more details.<BR><br \/>\nThe organisation has deemed his May encounter to be a &#8220;Class A&#8221; sighting.<BR><br \/>\nAn explanation of the group&#8217;s classification system posted on the BFRO&#8217;s website describes Class A sightings, stating: &#8221; Class A reports involve clear sightings in circumstances where misinterpretation or misidentification of other animals can be ruled out with greater confidence. <BR><br \/>\n&#8220;For example, there are several footprint cases that are very well documented.
