are facing empty shelves and soaring prices, but the biggest treasure could already be hiding in an old collection at home.<BR><br \/>\nThe Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game has exploded in popularity in recent years, with collectors young and old scrambling to find rare cards and limited-edition releases.<BR><br \/>\nNow, as the franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary with a new set featuring a futuristic \u201cRare\u201d category and 30 uniquely numbered Pikachu cards, interest in valuable cards is reaching fever pitch.<BR><br \/>\nBut those unable to get their hands on the latest releases could strike gold by digging through forgotten binders.<BR><br \/>\nAt the top of the collector wish list is the legendary Pikachu Illustrator card from 1998.<BR><br \/>\nCreated by Pikachu illustrator Atsuko Nishida, the card was awarded to winners of a Japanese comic illustration competition, with only 39 ever produced.<BR><br \/>\nFewer than 20 are believed to remain, helping push its estimated value beyond \u00a34.1 million.<BR><br \/>\nA PSA 10 graded version famously sold for $16.49 million at auction after previously being owned by YouTuber Logan Paul.<BR><br \/>\nAnother iconic card is the First Edition Shadowless Holographic Charizard from 1999, often considered the ultimate Pok\u00e9mon card.<BR><br \/>\nThe printing error, which removed the shadow behind the artwork box, combined with its first-edition stamp, makes it incredibly rare and puts its estimated value at around \u00a3330,000.<BR><br \/>\nOther cards commanding huge prices include the 1998 Commissioned Presentation Galaxy Star Holo Blastoise, worth around \u00a3280,000, and the Black Star Ishihara Signed GX Promo, valued at approximately \u00a3195,000.<BR><br \/>\nThe Ishihara card was given only to Pok\u00e9mon Company employees at company president Tsunekazu Ishihara\u2019s birthday celebration, with signed versions being even rarer.<BR><br \/>\nTournament prizes also feature heavily among the most valuable cards.<BR><br \/>\nThe Kangaskhan Family Event Trophy, awarded to parent-child teams during a 1998 Japanese tournament, can fetch around \u00a3118,000, while the Pikachu No. 1 Trainer Trophy from the first official Pok\u00e9mon tournament is similarly prized.<BR><br \/>\nOther collector gems include the Neo Genesis First Edition Holo Lugia, Pok\u00e9mon World Championships Promo No. 2 Trainer, Super Secret Battle No. 1 Trainer and EX Deoxys Gold Star Rayquaza Holo.<BR><br \/>\nWith some rare cards worth more than luxury homes, Pok\u00e9mon fans checking
