A former CIA researcher has claimed US officials probing recovered UFOs have encountered four separate types of extraterrestrial beings.
Dr Hal Puthoff made the bombshell allegation during an appearance on the Diary of a CEO podcast alongside filmmaker Dan Farah.
Dr Puthoff, who also advised the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program, said he had been briefed by what he described as high-level insiders.
Asked how many alien species had allegedly been linked to recovered craft, he replied: “Four separate types.”
The boffin continued: “Now I have not had direct access to that, but I believe the people I talked to, four separate types of life at least.”
The alleged classifications have previously been linked publicly to Eric Davis, a longtime collaborator of Puthoff.
According to reports from a 2025 UAP Disclosure Fund conference, Davis described the beings as ‘Grays’, said to be small with large eyes, ‘Nordics’, described as human-sized and Northern European in appearance, ‘Insectoids’, tall mantis-like figures, and ‘Reptilians’, humanoid creatures with scaly skin and tails.
Dr Puthoff also alleged that secrecy around UFO investigations has been maintained for decades through deliberate misinformation.
He claimed there had been a “CIA meeting where people got together and said, ‘Okay, in order to not have people be pursuing this area, let’s go out of our way to spread what we would call now disinformation'”.
Separately, Davis has long claimed he examined “off-world” wreckage and biological material from vehicles he says “we couldn’t make ourselves”.
Despite the extraordinary allegations, no physical proof has been produced publicly.
Dr Puthoff himself acknowledged his comments were secondhand rather than based on direct experience.
The claims remain anecdotal and unverified, with no photographs, biological samples or independently tested materials released.
Meanwhile, despite growing political interest and testimony from figures such as David Grusch, the US government has not officially confirmed recovered alien bodies or endorsed descriptions of extraterrestrial species.
