If you’re struggling with post-festival fatigue, there are two things you need to add to your shopping list.
And they won’t break the budget either.
According to Dr Amos Ogunkoya, one of the things you need to stock up on is baked beans.
He told Just Eat that the fibre and protein content of beans aids slow energy release, which helps with fatigue and gut health.
Both are important for getting nutrition back on track after inconsistent eating habits at a festival.
Meanwhile, pickled beetroot is another budget-friendly solution.
In addition to the vitamins and minerals in beetroot, the fermentation in the pickling process can help boost the immune system by producing probiotics.
It also helps with gut health.
Even sipping the pickling juice itself can help – if you can stomach it, that is!
Dr Ogunkoya explained: “After festivals, our bodies need a lot of conscious recovery, repair, and TLC. It’s all about prioritising self-care after days of late nights, too much sun, and non-stop socialising, but many of us struggle to find solutions that actually stick.”
His other tips to help include sipping lemon and ginger tea to help with nausea, taking DioraHydrate Effervescent Tablets to help replenish lost electrolytes and using pain relief gel to help with aches from carrying heavy backpacks or sleeping on thin mattresses.
