A UFO expert claims glowing orbs seen in the sky could be a “warp drive” used by alien space craft.

Professor Avi Loeb of Harvard University, who is a leading US astrophysicist who sits on the UAP Science Advisory Council, has given his thoughts on the balls of light often seen in reports relating to UAPs (unidentified anomalous phenomena) and claimed the orbs could be light from a transportation mechanism used by extraterrestrial beings.

During an appearance on NewsNation, he explained: “If they have a cargo transportation system between habitable planets within their planetary system, we might see flashes of light from the beamer of a light sail.

“Technology that we can imagine. We don’t have such a system as of yet, but they may have it. In addition, they may also use for transportation a warp drive.

“That’s a bubble of distorted space-time that allows one to carry a cargo at an arbitrary speed across interstellar distances …

“If a warp bubble passes through the Earth’s atmosphere, it would cause a disturbance and produce a glowing ball of air. “

He added: “In fact, there are reports in the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters from the U.S. government, including excellent work by the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in the Pentagon, about orbs.

“These are mysterious glowing spheres that they appear to be seeing and the FBI and other government agencies are reporting about.

“It’s not at all clear what some of these orbs are. Some of them might be drones but others are definitely not drones. And so it’s a detective story for us to figure out what technology might be employed if these orbs came from outer space.”

Professor Loeb also insisted the US government is struggling to understand the phenomena, saying: “The U.S. government is telling us they see things they don’t understand.

“In fact, on Monday, August 31st, 2026, I had the first in-person meeting of the UAP Science Advisory Council that I’m leading at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

“And I can tell you, first of all, that the government has some data that they don’t fully understand.

“Secondly, they are very interested in figuring them out using the scientific method. And it’s not obvious at all, based on what they know that we are definitely dealing with only human-made technologies.”
