Kitten freed from soccer net

Firefighters freed a kitten entangled in a soccer net.

On August 12, crews from Modesto Fire Department’s Station 4 responded to a report on Fordham Avenue, Modesto, California, that the feline was trapped in a piece of sports equipment.

As the kitty was distressed, the team was “calm and careful” in freeing the pet.

The cat was freed without injuries.

The Modesto Fire Department captioned a video of the crews freeing the kitten from the soccer net, which was uploaded to its Instagram account, with: “Earlier today, firefighters from Station 4 responded to Fordham Avenue for an unusual rescue: a cat stuck in a soccer net.

“The tangled feline wasn’t too happy about people getting close, but the firefighters took a calm and careful approach. In the end, they freed the cat without any injuries – to the animal or themselves.

“Station 4 specialises in hazardous materials incidents, but this morning they added animal entanglements to their list of specialties.”
