An amateur golfer has described his shock after hitting two holes-in-one in a single round — an achievement so rare the odds are estimated at 67 million to one.

Gavin Bourne, 47, landed the double ace during the 36-hole club championship final at Droitwich Golf Club in Worcestershire on Sunday (28.09.25).

The heating engineer, who has played golf for more than 30 years with a 0.4 handicap, struck his first perfect shot on the third hole and then repeated the feat on the fifteenth, securing him the club title.

Speaking to the BBC, Bourne said: “Every golfer’s dream is to have a hole-in-one and then to have two in one round is just absolutely incredible.”

He told England Golf how the moment unfolded: “We saw it land but you can’t really see the green… I said, ‘Am I going to look a bit daft if I walk up to the green without my putter?’ And there it was!”

When the feat happened again 12 holes later, Bourne admitted: “I was like, ‘No way. You’re having me on here.’ You can’t really put it into words to be honest.”
