A motorist has claimed to have seen a large “furry” creature stalking a jogger in Washington state.

The witness – named only as Gael – was driving through the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in the southwest of the state back in May when she spotted a “reddish brown furry figure” lurking on an embankment at the edge of the forest and she noticed falling debris and a weighty boulder which appeared to have been pushed down the hill close to where a woman was running at the bottom of the slope.

Gael reported the sighting to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), writing: “I was driving in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest on Wind River Road – approximately 1-2 miles south of Hemlock Road (north of Carson).

“I noticed debris falling from the bank of the road and a large bolder in the ditch. I looked up the embankment to see what may have caused it.

“I was traveling about 50 MPH so the viewing was very brief. I saw a reddish brown furry figure standing at the edge of the embankment.

“The terrain behind it was heavy forestation. Because I was driving it is hard to say the height and I did not see a face. It may have had it’s back to me but it was standing upright and definitely not human or a bear …

“My original instinct was that the bolder had been pushed down the embankment.”

In an interview with investigator Matthew Moneymaker, Gael added that the boulder had landed close to where the jogger was running but the woman did not notice the large hairy creature standing at the top of the slope.

Moneymaker explained: “I spoke with witness Gael K. She is an excellent credible witness, and the story turned out to be more interesting than what she wrote …

“She says this was definitely not an elk or bear or human. It looked like a sasquatch. She thinks it may have been juvenile because it was not super tall and massive.

“It was around the size of a human. The fur color light brown but slightly more orange than tree bark brown. She was roughly 40 feet away at closest view …

“She was paying attention to the road ahead as she approached because she saw a jogger up ahead, jogging down the side of the highway. On the embankment she saw rocks and dust coming down as if there had been a small rock slide.

“Right below that dust and rock flow a sizeable boulder was resting on the edge of the highway, as if it had just fallen down there … The boulder was about 4 feet by 2 feet, by Gael’s estimation. It was not a small rock … “

He added: “After she noticed the rock slide dust and small rocks still coming down the embankment, she followed that path with her eyes up the top of the embankment and saw the sasquatch standing motionless right above the rock slide.

“Its back was to her as she approached, therefore it’s body was oriented to look in the direction of the jogger that was roughly 100 feet further down the highway … The rock slide could have happened after right the jogger passed that point but the jogger didn’t seem to notice or at least not care …

“I asked Gael about the jogger. The jogger was a woman with hair in a pony tail. She was petite and wearing pink shorts. Her back was to Gael as Gael approached. She was a redhead.

“I put the possibility to Gael that maybe the sasquatch pushed the big rock off the edge of the embankment in response to the jogger women passing by. Gael said that was entirely possible.”
