A dog walker claims to have spotted Bigfoot in the UK.
The witness – who has not been named – claims to have seen an eight foot-tall, hairy beast while out walking his dog in Bramham, West Yorkshire back in October 1998 but only recently reported the sighting. The witness claims the dog spotted the creature first and started barking and he was paralysed with fear.
Reporting the sighting to Phantomsandmonsters.com, the dogwalker explained: “It has taken me a long time to come forward about what happened that day, but I finally feel ready to tell the story.
“It happened in October 1998. My family and I lived in Bramham, a rural village in West Yorkshire … That evening, I had finished work and taken my dog down a long farm track we often used. It was about 8 p.m., and it was already dark …
“As we went farther along, my dog suddenly stopped. He froze and stared up the track in the direction we were heading …
“He started growling, and his hackles rose … Then he became more agitated and started barking loudly … Something had really frightened him. When I turned to look up the track again, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
“A massive creature was standing there, looking in our direction. I was in complete shock. I kept thinking: ‘It can’t be real.’ I honestly don’t think my brain could process what I was seeing …
“It was massively built. I estimated that it stood about eight feet tall and measured about five feet across the shoulders. It was covered in hair, but I couldn’t make out its facial features because its face was in shadow.
“It stood about 30 meters away. I could see its overall form, but even at that distance I couldn’t distinguish any features of its face. It made no sound. I didn’t notice any smell or hear anything from it.”
The dog got between its owner and the creature before turning around and fleeing, leaving the witness unsure what to do and they admitted they simply nodded at the beast and said: “Alright” before walking off.
The witness said: “What I did next happened without conscious thought. I can’t explain why I did it. I looked at the creature, gave a quick nod, and said, ‘Alright.’
“I know that sounds crazy, but that is what I did. Then I calmly turned around and started walking back after my dog. Inside, I was terrified. All the time, I was listening for the creature coming up behind me.”
They concluded: “I had no idea what Bigfoot was back then. Years later, after seeing images online, I felt certain that what I had seen looked like an exact match.”
