A Boston bakery is offering a tasty reward for the return of its missing ice cream mascot.

Flour Bakery, which can be found on Boston Common, has posted a tongue in cheek plea for the safe return of its mascot, which is a large plastic ice cream cone nicknamed Swirly.

There were fears Swirly had blown away during the winter, but now co-owner Joanne Chang thinks something else is afoot.

She wrote on Facebook: “MISSING: OUR GIANT SOFT SERVE MASCOT! ANSWERS TO SWIRLY

“Last seen perched on railing welcoming you to Flour Boston Common and enticing you to try our amazing soft serve.”

Chang added that the mascot might be in a “nearby dorm”, and she joked Swirly could be “confused”.

She quipped: “He was possibly spotted in a nearby dorm window looking down longingly at home and we have reason to believe he may be confused about where he is.”

Chang insisted the business won’t be taking any action if he’s returned “safely”, and they’ll even offer some treats from the bakery as a reward.

They continued: “To anyone who is temporarily sheltering him: thank you for protecting him this winter, please return him safely, no questions asked, in exchange for baked goods and our eternal gratitude!!! (sic)”
