A Bigfoot expert has explained why no one has ever found a body proving the existence of the fabled beast.
Todd Prescott, sasquatch researcher and curator of The Sasquatch Archives, spoke to Andrew Bartlettis of the University of Sheffield in the UK and Jamie Lewis, authors of Bigfooters and Scientific Inquiry: On the Borderlands of Legitimate Science, and explained his theory that the creatures may bury their dead just like humans and that would explain why Bigfoot remains have never been discovered.
He said: “I don’t know why that is [why we have not found a body], and I can guess, I can say what others have said: that they’re very careful and they’re never alone.
“So, when one dies, possibly they take that carcass away, they eat it, they bury it, and they bury it high and they bury it deep, so the chances of finding it on a mountaintop buried, you know, six feet under are remote at best.”
It comes after another expert claimed Bigfoot never attacks humans because the mythical creature is “too intelligent” to put itself in danger.
Matthew Moneymaker, who runs the the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), is convinced the creature known as sasquatch has evaded detection for hundreds of years because it knows it needs to avoid humans in order to survive insisting many other animals who attack as a defensive mechanism have ended up extinct.
During an appearance on Fox News’ Planet Tyrus podcast, Matthew explained: “The [Bigfoot] encounters are all the same – the thing turns around and leaves … That’s a level of intelligence too because they know it’s not going to do them any good to interact with people, it puts them in danger so they just turn around and leave … ”
He added: “[So many species like the California grizzly bear] are all excextinct because as soon as they would see any kind of intruder, a human or a human on horseback, they would just make a beeline and attack. Small brained animal … So not attacking has a survival advantage.”
Matthew also insisted a Bigfoot might try to scare humans into leaving its territory but they would do so without “physically attacking”.
He said: “They might try to intimidate and scare but they don’t need to do more than that because that always works … If they don’t want to just immediately leave, if it’s dark and they really want you to leave the area, they’ll do things in a way that doesn’t put them in danger …
“If you turn on a spotlight, they’re going to be just far enough behind trees so you can’t shoot ’em. But they’ll still make you uncomfortable all night long so you don’t want to stay there. “So they know how to get you out of the area without physically attacking you.”
